Psychology Intervention appointments

Psychology intervention appointments are 50 minutes in duration and provide individualised strategies to support a child and family's needs. Initial appointment often requires a parent-only session to attain background information and explore parents' concerns and goals. It is ideal if both parents can attend.  Subsequent appointments will predominantly be with the child/adolescent and feedback will be provided to parents/carers at conclusion of session.

Please bring previous assessments and investigations by other specialist medical or allied health professionals.

Appointment Cancellation Policy

Child Development Clinic understands that life can be unpredictable, and missing an appointment is sometimes unavoidable. We truly value the trust parents/carers place in us for their child's care, and we aim to be as accommodating as possible.

This policy is in place to ensure we can continue to provide the highest quality of care and maintain the efficient operation of our practice for all families. Our cancellation fees are set as a genuine pre-estimate of the clinic loss incurred when a valuable specialist appointment cannot be filled by a child on our waitlist.

It is crucial that 3 full business days' notice is provided to postpone or cancel an appointment. This is the minimum time needed to ensure children and their families on our waitlist have the opportunity to be seen.
  • For initial assessment appointments, if this minimum notice period is not adhered to, a further non-refundable $300 booking fee will be charged at the time of re-booking.
  • For follow-up appointments, a cancellation fee of $100 will be charged for non-attendance and postponement/cancellations without adequate notice, and payment is required prior to rescheduling your child’s next appointment.

If your child’s appointment has been confirmed a within a week a of their date of appointment and the appointment is not attended with no notice (no show on day), the full fee of the appointment will be charged.  Payment of this is required prior to rescheduling.

Our Paediatricians and allied health team are committed to supporting your children’s needs.  When a patient does not provide adequate notice, other children lose their opportunity to be seen. We encourage you to contact our team as soon as possible to advise of your situation.

In some circumstances, where a pattern of last minute cancellations or non-attendance emerges, further appointments will only be secured with full prepayment of expected fees.

We will always do our best to offer you an alternative appointment if we have sufficient notice of a cancellation.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. By respecting this policy, you are helping us ensure that every child receives timely, quality care and that we can effectively manage our schedule for the benefit of all the families we serve.

Payment Policy

We strive to provide the best care and treatment for children and their families. In return, we do require that our services are paid for on the day of service. If there are exceptional circumstances and you are unable to do so, please contact our office as soon as possible on (02) 8379 8222 or [email protected]

Failure to adhere to our payment policy may result in additional fees being incurred by you which will also require immediate full payment.
