The Child Development Clinic offer a range of evidence-based group therapy programs for children and adolescents which are run throughout school terms. Groups are a great opportunity for your child to meet same-aged peers with similar challenges, and provide a unique opportunity for children to practice skills learnt in a safe and fun environment. 2025 ProgramsParenting Program: (Term 1)
Tuning into Kids REGISTER YOUR INTEREST FOR 2025 IN FORM BELOW! Time: 6 weekly lunchtime sessions 12:30 - 1:30pm on Wednesdays starting week 2 of term 1, 12th of February to 19th March. Location: Hybrid access, either online or in person at 3/66 Clarence Street, Sydney, 2000 Cost: $650 paid upfront Numbers: 6 parents/carers Program overview: Tuning into Kids is an evidence based program that provides training to parents and carers on how to use an emotion coaching way of interacting with children. It can help parents, carers and teachers to develop an emotional connection with the child and in turn helps the child learn about emotions to foster a better ability in understanding and regulating emotions. Learn more about the program at: https://tuningintokids.org.au/ Social Skills/Friendship Building: (Term 2) Stop Think Do (7-12 year olds) REGISTER YOUR INTEREST FOR 2025 IN FORM BELOW! Time: 7 weekly sessions 4:30pm - 5:30pm on Mondays starting 5th May - 23rd of June. Location: 3/66 Clarence Street, Sydney, 2000 Cost: $850 paid upfront, includes afternoon tea each week. Numbers: 6 children in group (Numbers strictly limited!) Program overview: The STOP.THINK.DO. program was developed by a clinical psychologist and is an Australian social skills program for children who have difficulties making and keeping friends. STOP.THINK.DO. develops emotional and social intelligence in children as they learn to understand and control their feelings at STOP, THINK about their options and likely consequences, and behave appropriately at DO. The program focusses on how to use these skills in social situations. The program will be facilitated by two experienced provisional psychologists under the supervision of a clinical psychologist.
